Fourcés

This charming bastide is also listed as one of the plus beaux villages de France.

The ancient church and attractive clock tower are seen as one enters the village via a lovely stone bridge over the river. Fourcés is unusual as the central square follows a circular design rather than the typical grid pattern of most bastide towns. The square is planted with London Plane trees which provide welcoming shade in the hot summer months. Medievel houses built in stone or half-timbered are found in the village. A large flower festival is held here at the end of April.
