La Romieu

This small moated walled village is rich in history and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has a 14C collegiate church of Saint Pierre with a magnificent Gothic cloister and impressive towers. The legend of Angéline and her cats can be discovered when wandering around the arcaded square. Not far away on the pilgrim route to Saint Jacques de Compostela lie the gardens of Coursiana. Several hundred different varieties of trees and shrubs including a medicinal and aromatic plant can be found in this area covering over 14 acres.
